This article argues that plastics ought to be included under the category of ‘hazardous’ healthcare waste and suggests health professionals should strive for alternatives as part their mission improve health. The focus this paper is on replacing, rather than recycling, plastics. rationale stance stems from unbridled escalation use, fact few countries have significant recycling capacity, because process well end products recycled remain hazardous environment.
